Elizabethtown College student uses 3D printer to make medical supplies

LORI: GOOD MORNING —
CORINNE: GOOD MORNING, EMILY
WARD HAS LOVED 3D PRINTING. SHE IS NOW A SOPHOMORE STUDENT
STUDYING ENGINEERING AND SHE IS
A BRIGHT GIRL. SHE IS USING HER OWN 3D PRINTER
TO MAKE SUPPLIES FOR MEDICAL
PROFESSIONALS, AND SUPPLIES FOR
DENTISTS.>>I AM MAKING THAT HAD BEEN
PORTIONS FOR THE FACE SHIELDS,
SO I HAVE BEEN SENDING THE
HEADBANDS TO DREXEL UNIVERSITY,
AND THEY HAVE BEEN PUTTING THE
FACE SHIELDS TOGETHER AND DISTRIBUTING THEM TO DIFFERENT
HOSPITALS. AND, I HAVE ALSO MADE 20 FACE
SHIELDS FOR DENTAL PRACTICE. LORI: YOU ARE A —
CORINNE: YOU ARE A BUSY STUDENT,
WHY WAS THIS IMPORTANT FOR YOU
TO FIND TIME TO MAKE THESE FOR
THE COMMUNITY?>>I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE THE
LEAST I CAN DO, THESE, AND IF
THERE WAS SOME WAY I COULD HELP,
I THOUGHT I COULD. CORINNE: HOW MANY ARE YOU ABLE
TO CRANK OUT?>>THE HEADBANDS TAKE ABOUT FOUR
HOURS TO PRINT, BUT I LET THE
PRINTER RUN, AND IT TAKES ABOUT
30 MINUTES PER FACE SHIELDS TO
MAKE. CORINNE: I AM SURE THE COMMUNITY
IS VERY APPRECIATIVE OF WHAT YOU
ARE DOING. IT IS A BIG HELP. WHAT DOES THAT FEEL LIKE FOR
YOU?>>THE FEEDBACK HAS BEEN
POSITIVE. THE HELP IS APPRECIATED. I AM GLAD THAT I CAN HELP OUT. CORINNE: IT IS SO NICE OF HER TO
FIND FREE TIME TO BE ABLE TO DO
THIS. SHE HAS MADE 60 HEADBANDS FOR
DREXEL THAT SHE HAS SENT OFF AND
20 FOR FACE SHI
